L'Arche Irenicon Community Homes

Nazorean House

This is the first home that Irenicon opened in the Haverhill area. Four core members and three (sometimes four) assistants live together in this lovely single family home. The third floor and basement has been renovated into bedrooms for assistants. The back yard provides the community with an ideal spot for cookouts and other outdoor gatherings. With Irenicon meaning message of peace, the name Nazorean was chosen, reflecting the people of the town where Jesus, the one who brings the message to many of us, lived throughout most of his childhood and as an adult until he was 30 years old.

Peace House

Peace House is a three family home with an apartment on each floor. Two core members and an assistant live on each of the first two floors. Two assistants live on the third floor. The first two floors often come together for meals, prayers and activities but they also create their own small communities. It is an ideal setting for people who prefer a more intimate environment and a less hectic pace than one finds in our other homes. There is a small yard and front and side porches on the second and third floors.

Gandhi House

This is the community's newest home. Located in one of Haverhill's finest neighborhoods, it is a large and gracious home where four core members and four assistants share their lives. With a spacious living room and a large activity space in the basement, many of the community events are hosted by this home. There is a large carriage house on the property that prompts the community's dreamers to imagine future renovation projects and uses for the now empty building.
